31st ANNUAL BILL BROWN YOUTH CROSS-COUNTRY SERIES - Introductory running series open to all boys and girls ages 13 and under. The series consists of 3 cross-country meets in Bel Air on Sunday afternoons (3 p.m.) on Oct 6, Oct. 20, and Nov. 3. Races are conducted in five age groups at distances of a half-mile (ages 6-7, 8-9, and 10-11), one-mile (ages 12-13), and quarter-mile (ages 5 and under). There are 3 venues: John Carroll School on Oct. 6, at C. Milton Wright High School on Oct. 20 and at Tollgate Park on Nov. 3. A brief instructional clinic will be held at each meet. BALLROOM DANCE - Adults. Program offers (3) sessions through the school year at BAES with instructor Ray. Fall Session: Beginner class begins at 7 pm and offers Foxtrot, Swing, and Mambo. Doors open at 6:30pm for practice time. An after class time from 8 to 9pm is available for advancing steps in various styles for those interested. (Requirement is having taken a beginner class at BAES). Classes begin on September 10th. Winter session begins January 7th and offers ChaChaCha, Rhumba and Waltz. BATON TWIRLING - Ages 3 and up. Applause of Bel Air Baton Twirling Corp.- Learn to twirl a baton and participate in local parades. Beginner Classes: Wednesdays at BAMS starting Oct 2nd 6:00-7:00 PM . Intermediate Classes: Wednesdays at BAMS starting Oct. 2nd 6-7:30pm. October through May. Travel/National Completion Team for experienced twirlers starts Oct. 7th mandatory practices on Mondays at RPE and Wednesdays at BAMS practices 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM. BEL AIR COMMUNITY BAND – Ages 18-80. Meets Mondays at Patterson Mill H.S. 7:00-9:00pm year ‘round beginning Sept. 16th. Wednesday Sept. 4th and 11th rehearsals will be at CMWHS. Rehearsals end in December prior to the December concert. They will resume in mid January. Note: High School seniors must be recommended by their music director, to fill a vacancy in the band. All auditions for prospective band members will be conducted by the community band director. BEL AIR SKI CLUB – Weekday Evening Janury/February ski trips (4) to Roundtop- for 6th-12th graders (all schools). Bus transportation available from Southampton Middle School.Trip dtes are 1/9/2020,1/24/2020,2/6/2020 and 2/21/2020. Registration is limited to 100 members and is taken on a firts come basis. BOYS BASKETBALL -Ages 5-15. Season runs November till March. Register online only at belairboysbasketball.assn.la Registration runs Aug. 1 through October 1st. Age Groups 5/6 - $70.00 Saturday games and practice. Age groups 7/8 Saturday - $80.00 Saturday games only. 9/10, 11/12 and 13/15- $80.00 one weeknight practice and games Saturday. All players ages 8-15 are required to attend evaluation session in October. All players trying out for travel must register in their perspective rec age group prior to trying out. If you make a travel team, fee will be used towards travel expenses. If do not make a travel team, you will be placed on a rec team. GIRLS BASKETBALL – Ages 5–16. Season runs early November through end of February. Online Registration will take place from Sept. 1st through Sept. 30th. A $15.00 late fee will be applied on all registrations received after Sept. 30th. One weeknight practice for all age groups, Monday through Thursday. Games will be held on Friday or Saturday. HARFORD MEN’S FALL BASEBALL LEAGUE - Registration for the 2020 Spring & Summer Season will open January 1, 2020. Registrations online only at www.mensbaseball.org/registration. Cost will be $125.00 per player prior to February 28th. A $10 late fee added starting March 1st. Players wishing to play in the 30+ age group must turn 30 prior to the end of the calendar year. Players wishing to play in the 40+ age group must turn 40 prior to the end of the calendar year. WRESTLING – Ages 5-14 (Age-Weight) formats with emphasis on technique, balance, strength, endurance and fun. Clinic (Ages 5-7) Elem. level (Ages 8-10) and Middle School level (Ages 11-14). Practices will be 2-3 times per week with events on weekends. For experienced wrestlers, a tournament team participates in elite tournaments throughout MD, NJ, PA, and DE. First-time wrestlers are welcome and encouraged by starting together in a fundamental-based practice and will wrestle in local Novice (beginners) tournaments with other new wrestlers, guaranteeing maximum mat time. The Bel Air Skate Park is open year round (weather permitting). Skate At Your Own Risk. Fall Hours: Sept. 3– Nov. 1 10am-7pm weekdays/10am-5:30pm weekends.
